Who are you and what do you do at velpTEC?
I’m Lhea, 28, and I work as a Product Developer in the Business Innovation team. I focus on current trends in the EdTech sector and evaluate their relevance for velpTEC—covering everything from learning analytics and personalized learning and assessment processes to target-group-specific educational products.
velpTEC places a strong emphasis on close collaboration with universities and colleges, which I oversee. Through joint research projects, we develop new ideas, design continuing education courses, and test new technologies.
Currently, our university founding is at the top of my agenda—our team is working on all the concepts required to offer high-quality degree programs in the near future.
What has your journey been like with us?
I’ve been with velpTEC since 2023, working as a Product Developer. I wanted to grow professionally and take on more responsibility in the field of digital learning and assessment. In consultation with velpTEC, I took on a teaching position at a university and began my part-time PhD. In my research, I’m exploring current scientific challenges in the areas of generative AI and assessment. Bridging the gap between business and academia is incredibly exciting!
My future at velpTEC is clear: we always find a path that works for both me and the company through open dialogue. I really appreciate that further development opportunities are discussed transparently.

Who has supported you most along the way?
My manager has been a huge support. They recognized my strengths early on and give me a great deal of trust and the freedom to develop my own ideas, implement them, and work independently—there is definitely no micromanagement here.
The multidisciplinary teams and the exchange with different departments are also very valuable and inspiring to me.
Why is velpTEC the right fit for you?
velpTEC is a great fit for me because it focuses on innovative education and uses technology in an open and meaningful way. velpTEC is intentionally committed to pedagogical quality in digital learning and assessment processes. Many of my colleagues have a genuine background in education, and I believe that this focus makes all the difference.
When you put effort into your work at velpTEC, you get a lot back in return. Your individual performance never gets lost in the bigger picture—I can always see exactly what contribution I am making.
What do you like most about your work at velpTEC?
I most appreciate the variety of tasks—I truly never get bored here. The projects are fun, especially when I can see the tangible results at the end.
I find projects where I am involved from the initial idea to the final implementation particularly exciting—for example, developing new assessment formats or integrating generative AI into the learning process. We were even recognized for this and received two E-Learning Awards. I am especially proud of that!
